Metering

New Meter Installations

CUC provides a turnkey service for the installation of all electricity, gas and water meters. As meters are an essential part of energy management, we've established relationships with all of the infrastructure providers and can absorb a great deal of the administrative problems which the installation of new meters can create.

Half-hourly meter management

All half-hourly meters are provided by meter operators in the UK, normally under terms of hire and maintenance agreements which usually last for a period of 5 years. CUC provides a management service to ensure that these contracts are managed and renewed properly.

Smart meters / AMR's

All new 05,06,07 and 08 supplies will have Smart Meters from 2010 and all existing meters will be converted to Smart Meters by 2014. The benefit will be that clients will receive accurate meter readings of energy consumption in the future and that the analysis which CUC undertakes will be based on higher quality information. CUC will oversee the installation of these new meters to ensure each client's compliance with the new legislation.
